SDM Doors carried out a major transformation for a homeowner in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. The project centred on maximising light and creating a stronger connection to the garden.

The team supplied and installed Cortizo aluminium bifold doors finished in Agate Grey, a colour chosen to match the home’s existing windows and provide a contemporary yet subtle tone. To achieve the wide, floor-to-ceiling opening, SDM carefully removed the brickwork panel beneath the old window, ensuring the structure was properly prepared for the new installation.

Alongside the bifold doors, SDM fitted a Rehau Rio flush casement window, also colour-matched to the existing frames for a perfectly coordinated appearance. The combination of slim aluminium bifolds and a high-performance flush casement creates a light, airy interior while delivering excellent thermal efficiency and smooth operation.

The homeowner was delighted with the result: a seamless, modern rear elevation that integrates beautifully with the rest of the property and provides year-round enjoyment.
